Communities in northern Israel were placed on high alert Friday morning in advance of the Yom Kippur holiday which begins at sundown.

The IDF raised the alert along the border out of concern that Syria might try to retaliate against Israel after an alleged attack by the IAF on September 6.

Foreign media reported that Israeli pilots bombed a military installation located in a deserted area of the country.
