The elite Duvdudan army unit has arrested Niad Shkriat, the head of Hamas in the Shechem area. Shkriat was hiding in a building that the soldiers surrounded. Following the arrest and Thursday's counter-terrorist operation against a suicide bombing cell, the IDF withdrew from the city Friday morning.
Soldiers arrested 49 terrorists during the operation. No one was injured Thursday night despite firebomb and shooting attacks on the IDF troops.
