(IsraelNN.com) A French court Wednesday has ordered a French television news department to show the judge its raw video footage of the September 2000 shooting death of a 12-year-old Palestinian Authority Arab boy.

Media and human rights organizations around the world condemned Israel for what was presented as an incident in which IDF soldiers shot and killed the boy during a gunfight with PA terrorists.

Philippe Karsenty, the director of the media watchdog group Media-Ratings, was convicted on charges of slander after accusing the France-2 TV station of faking the footage. A number of foreign journalists have maintained that the B-roll showed evidence that the boy had actually been killed in a staged death by PA terrorists. The court ordered France-2 TV to submit its raw footage of the incident by November 1st, and plans to rule on the case by February 2008.
