Miki Goldwasser: Time for Soul-Searching in Lebanon Reported: 08:17 AM - Sep/20/07
(IsraelNN.com) According to a report in Yediot Acharonot, Miki Goldwasser, the mother of kidnapped IDF soldier Ehud Goldwasser, published a letter to the Lebanese people in the Arabic newspaper A-Shark Al-Ausat on Thursday. In her letter, Goldwasser called on the Lebanese people to “search your souls.” “It’s time to demand the Lebanon you deserve,” she wrote. Goldwasser described Israel’s recovery from the Second Lebanon War, saying that the country had managed to deal with all of its problems using democratic means, and had succeeded in rebuilding the north and the economy within one year. In contrast, she said, Lebanon “which should have been the pearl of the Middle East” had experienced no such renewal. During the month of Ramadan, she said, the Lebanese people must decide whether they want to support Hizbullah and to experience “poverty, destruction, violence, and crime,” or whether they wish to stand up for democracy and experience “progress and prosperity.” ![]() Check out the Chill Zone - Funny, Entertaining Videos © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
