The breakaway Hamas-led Palestinian Authority met on Tuesday in Gaza to discuss ongoing negotiations between the Israeli government and the Fatah-led PA in Judea and Samaria. The breakaway PA, led by senior Hamas terrorist and former PA Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, announced its rejection of any agreement reached between Israel and the PA during the international Middle East peace conference in November.
A spokesman for the breakaway PA explained “The Palestinian people is not obligated to any agreement or declaration of principles reached by the Palestinian negotiators, who do not represent the people.” The group criticized United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for “inciting” the PA and attempting to make the political split between Hamas and Fatah a permanent one.
