(IsraelNN.com) The Kibbutz movement has asked authorities to expand the ‘Telem’ program to include a greater number of kibbutzim, according to NFC.  The program is available to members of the Ethiopian community who have completed their IDF service, and offers housing, employment, and study opportunities.  Kibbutzim have also asked to increase the length of the program from one year to two.

Kibbutz representatives said that the Absorption Ministry has received overwhelmingly positive feedback about the program.  Including more kibbutzim in the initiative would allow more Ethiopian Israelis to participate, they said.  Only 80 young men and women are chosen to participate in the program each year, they said, out of approximately 250 who apply.
