Barak: No Cash, Less Electricity to Gaza (IsraelNN.com) Sources close to Defense Minister Ehud Barak clarified Barak’s plan to discourage rocket attacks from Gaza on Wednesday morning. While Barak would allow some electricity to enter Gaza, they said, the supply to areas from which rockets are fired would be cut off, and the overall supply to Gaza would be significantly reduced from the current 150 Megawatts per day, in order to make it difficult for terrorists to produce “Kassam” rockets or run other weapons plants. The plan would reduce the quality of life in Gaza, aides said. Barak and senior IDF officials also hope to block the flow of cash into Gaza, and will insist that payments to humanitarian organizations are made directly. “Every check will have an address,” officials explained. ![]() Sign up for new Daily Israel Headlines: One page – All the news © A7 Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
