Saudi Arabia has bought 72 Typhoon fighter jets from Great Britain at a cost of 4.43 billion pounds sterling.
A press release from Saudi news agency Safa said that "a contract has been signed for purchasing the planes from Britain, at a price identical to that paid by the British Army."
In 2006, then-Prime Minister Tony Blair ordered the halt of a police investigation against defense company BAE, regarding bribes it may have paid to Saudi royals in order to bring about the signing of the Typhoon deal. Blair said the investigation would harm Britain's security.
