The IDF Monday morning reversed itself within 24 hours and decided that Knesset Members can enter the site of Homesh, which nationalists have been trying to rebuild. It was one of four northern Samaria communities that the government destroyed as part of the expulsion program two years ago.

The IDF Sunday night had ruled MKs Prof. Aryeh Eldad and Uri Ariel (National Union) and Yuli Edelstein (Likud) could not visit the site because of problems of security. It decided Monday morning that it was safe enough for them to tour the area.

On the Jewish new year of Rosh HaShanah, the IDF cleared out nationalists from Homesh on the basis of an imminent terrorist threat, and then announced several hours later the threat no longer existed.
