Arizona has recognized the Jewish Rosh HaShanah New Year holiday and has determined that the fall semester break will take place during the two-day holiday. The move enables Jewish students to pray in synagogue and observe the holiday without missing school studies.
Paradise Valley spokeswoman Judi Willis told the Arizona Republic, "We have a significant Jewish population, and in the past couple of years, one of the parameters of our task force is to be respectful of religious holidays."
