The National Security Council and the China Institute for International Strategic Studies (CIISS) held their first strategic dialogue this past week, from September 2-8, in China. The CIISS is part of China's Defense Ministry.
According to a statement from the NSC, "NSC Chairman Ilan Mizrahi held a series of discussions with his Chinese interlocutors. The talks focused on Middle Eastern and Asian regional issues, including Iran."
CIISS Director and former Chinese People’s Liberation Army Deputy Chief-of-Staff Xiong Guangkai said that the CIISS-NSC dialogue would be held at least once a year, alternating between Israel and China. The next round of talks will be held in Israel.
