In light of reports that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has agreed to widespread withdrawal from Judea and Samaria, Deputy Mayor of the Binyamin Region Avi Ro’eh said Tuesday that “only a failed prime minister surrounded by investigations could suggest the establishment of a Palestinian state in Binyamin, Judea and Samaria on the day when there are dozens of soldiers injured from a Kassam rocket fired from the Palestinian state already established in Gaza.”

“The citizens of Israel know that the communities in Binyamin, Judea and Samaria are a security belt for Jerusalem, the coastal plain and Ben Gurion Airport and they won’t allow a terror state to be established five minutes from the Knesset,” Roeh added.

“For that reason, the Palestinians should know in advance that there is no significance to the obligations expressed by Olmert to them. The residents of Yesha (Judea, Samaria and [formerly] Gaza) and the rest of Israel’s citizens won’t allow Olmert’s uprooting survival plan to take effect.”
