Likud party chairman and Opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu urged the government to send IDF troops into Gaza in a major ground operation to end rocket attacks on the western Negev.
In a interview Tuesday morning on Army Radio, Netanyahu called for a ground incursion following a Kassam rocket attack launched by Islamic Jihad terrorists in Gaza on the Zikim army base just north of the security fence located on the pre-1967 border.
“There is no substitute for a large ground operation,” said Netanyahu.
