(IsraelNN.com) Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s announcement that he would work on an “agreement of principles” following his last meeting with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has returned to the spotlight.

Abbas aides announced over the weekend that the PA chairman would press Olmert on moving ahead with efforts to come to an agreement on final borders for a PA state as part of the proposed agreement.

The two men have different agendas for Monday’s meeting in Jerusalem. Olmert spokesman David Baker says only that Israel is “hoping for continued progress.” Abbas aide Nimer Hammad told reporters the PA Chairman will pressure Olmert for specific steps to reach final status talks.
