Prime Minister Ehud Olmert reminded government ministers Sunday that classified information – such as revealing sensitive information about army movements – must remain classified. “The security sources and IDF soldiers demonstrate unusual courage,” he said. “Naturally we can’t always show our cards to the public.”
Olmert’s remarks were made in context of a blackout on leaks by ministers on Syrian claims that IAF aircraft penetrated the enemy nation’s air space last week.
Israeli Arab Minister of Science, Culture and Sports, Raleb Majadle allegedly commented on the alleged incident over the weekend. Prime Minister Olmert refrained from discussing the specifics of the issue during Sundays’ cabinet meeting.
