The three men arrested by German officials Wednesday morning for plotting to attack the country on September 11 are members of a local Islamic Jihad cell, authorities revealed. They were in the "advanced stages" of carrying out an attack on the Frankfurt airport and an American military base in western Germany.
The Islamic Jihad group's goal is to replace Israel with a Muslim nation. The terrorist group worked alongside Hamas until two years ago to send suicide bombers through Israel and blow up restaurants and buses.
