(IsraelNN.com) Jordanian Minister of Culture Adel Tweisi has told his counterpart in the Palestinian Authority (PA) that Jordan will help in a planned PA official ceremony declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Arab culture. He said the event could be held in Jordan if Israel prevents the planned celebration in Jerusalem.

The planned festivities "should be held to highlight Jerusalem’s position on the Arab, Islamic and international levels, its identity and the need to defend it and establish cultural centers in the city," according to the official Jordanian news agency.
