Haaretz editorial board member and senior Arab Affairs Editor Danny Rubinstein stood behind his characterization of Israel as an “apartheid” state in a speech before a London synagogue.

According to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, “Rubinstein said ‘apartheid’ is a political term he and his newspaper increasingly use and he is not sorry for invoking it.”

The New Israel Fund, which funds leftist and Arab groups in Israel, sponsored Rubinstein’s speech.
