Secondary school teachers’ union representatives met with Finance Ministry officials on Monday to continue negotiating teacher salaries.  Union members warned that the teachers would consider a strike after the holidays if the two sides do not make progress by Thursday.

The union threatened to strike at the beginning of the school year, but was ordered by the National Labor Court to open the school year as scheduled.  However, the court did not rule out strikes later in the year.
