Knesset Member and Pensioners factional leader Moshe Sharoni has sharply condemned the Olmert administration for not retaliating against continuing Kassam rocket attacks on Israel. MK Sharoni, whose party is a member of the government coalition, told Arutz-7 (Hebrew), "The whole country is being misled. Do we have to live in fear? Are we not allowed to send our children to schools?"
He declared, "It is not reasonable that we have to spend millions for fortification and security while they live peacefully." Concerning the question of whether halting the flow of water and electricity to Gaza violates humanitarian concerns, MK Sharoni replied, "Talk to them [terrorists] instead of talking to us about humanity.
He added that the time may have come for the Pensioners party break away from the weakening coalition government.
