U.N. Parley Condemns Israel

(IsraelNN.com) A United Nations conference that is being held in Brussels with the help of the European Union (EU) accused Israel of policies of apartheid and urged an economic boycott of the Jewish state. A. U.N. body for the "inalienable rights of the Palestinian people" is holding the two-day meeting, called the International Conference of Civil Society in Support of Israeli-Palestinian Peace

It calls for the destruction of the separation barrier, a withdrawal by Israel to the 1949 Armistice Lines and implementation of the Arab demand that more than five million foreign Arabs be allowed to settle in Israel under the so-called right of return.

The Israeli ambassador to the EU and several European Parliament members failed to convince their leaders not to handle logistics for the event, which was labeled anti-Israeli before it even began. The EU several years ago refused to host a similar conference.
