The IDF has denied a report that originated in the Ha'aretz newspaper Wednesday that forces in the Golan Heights and near the Syrian border have been reduced. The report was disseminated on various news agencies around the world.

The IDF agreed that tensions between Syria and Israel have lessened lately but said the reason was due to diplomatic efforts and not a change in the presence of the IDF in the north.
