Prime Minister Ehud Olmert began his meeting with Palestinian Authority Chairman in Jerusalem at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in a continuation of regular talks that usually result in concessions by Israel to the PA.
For the first time since their series of meetings began, Abbas signed the guestbook at the Prime Minister’s official residence in the capital. “It is my honor to meet the Prime Minister in his home. I hope and wish for the peace between us to move forward and for both peoples, Israelis and Palestinians, to see the peace we are striving for,” wrote Abbas.
Olmert publicly thanked Abbas at the beginning of the meeting for the rescue by PA security forces of Israelis who recently entered PA areas recently by accident and who were surrounded by bloodthirsty mobs of PA Arabs intent on beating them. Olmert also thanked Abbas for his government’s decision to freeze the funds of 103 charitable organizations who were linked to the Hamas terrorist group.
