Syrian President Bashar Assad's cousin has shot dead a bouncer who would not let him enter a private party, according to Syrian opposition news agency Akhbar Al-Sharq.

Ihab Muhammad Makhlouf, Assad's maternal cousin shot to death the bouncer at Damascus's Amia hotel after he barred him from entering the hotel's night club during a private event.

Syrian authorities have prevented the bouncer's family from pursuing justice and have threatened dire consequences if they discuss the affair with the media.
