Ehud Studenia, a Samaria regional council member who is seeking to become the region’s mayor, has filed a request with Israel’s police commander to relieve Judea and Samaria Border Police Commander Shlomi Even-Paz of his position.

Studenia says the Even-Paz should be fired for stealing a memory card from the camera of a member of the Yesha Human Rights organization.

He adds that Even-Paz gave orders to use violence against protestors trying to reach Homesh in July and that he himself took the memory card from a camera that was handed to him by one of his men, with the goal of hiding the violence from watchdog groups and the media. Studenia says that Even-Paz refused to hand over the card, even once a police internal affairs investigation was launched into the incident.
