Authorities Ignoring Islamic Digging on Temple Mount
(IsraelNN.com) The Islamic Wakf digging taking place on the Temple Mount is more than a meter deep and is being carried out in the spot where the women’s section of the Holy Temple once stood, according to Dr. Eilat Mazar, an archeologist specializing in Jerusalem’s holy sites.
Dr. Mazar, a member of the Committee to Prevent the Destruction of Antiquities on the Temple Mount, says that contrary to claims by the Antiquities Authority, the digging is taking place without any supervision whatsoever.
According to Mazar, if anyone were to try to use a JCB tractor like the one being used on the Temple Mount at any archaeological site anywhere else in the country they would be stopped. “The Antiquities Authority is simply turning a blind eye,” she told Arutz-7.
