Secular Israelis Abandoning Teaching Profession

(IsraelNN.com) What was once considered to be a noble profession is now looked upon by many secular Israelis as a low paying job that gets no respect. New figures show that secular Israelis are  largely abandoning the teaching profession, especially the humanities. According to the figures, 45% of students learning education today are studying in Haredi-religious schools and only 19% of education students are learning in secular schools.

Throughout the country only 44 secular Israelis are learning history instruction, 35 bible studies,19 Hebrew language and but 6 are learning geography.
