Israel Receives World’s Most Advanced Air-2-Air Missile
Israel is to purchase 200 of the most advanced medium-range air-to-air weapons of their kind in the world. The AMRAAM missile, designed for the F-15 and F-16 warplanes, can be directed at several targets with a single burst.
The sale, valued at $334 million, was announced by the Pentagon along with 30 Harpoon anti-ship missiles and 500 AIM-9M Sidewinder air-to-air missiles. The Pentagon may also sell Israel $308 million worth of JP-8 aviation fuel for its aircraft and diesel fuel for its ground forces.
