The municipal building in the twin city of Ma’a lot-Tarshiha, some 20 kilometers east of Nahariya was hit by a grenade hurled by unknown assailants on Sunday morning.

No one was injured in the attack.

The northern city was officially created when the Jewish town of Ma’a lot was merged with the Israeli Arab town of Tarshiha in 1996. Ma’alot was the scene of a massive terror attack in 1974 by operatives from the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist organization, who massacred 21 Jewish children in an attack on an elementary school in the town.
