Terror attacks originating from the Gaza Strip have increased greatly recently. In the past two months, the Israel Defense Forces counted almost 300 attacks against Israel: 110 rocket attack and 170 mortar attacks. Two dozen were launched in the last 24 hours alone.

 

Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Fatah al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Popular Committees and al-Qaeda-linked Salafi groups are all shooting missiles and mortars at Israeli communities around the clock. The IDF says it holds the Hamas government responsible for all of the attacks.

 

The IDF has increased its operations as a result of the attacks and in the past three months, there have been close to 80 IDF operations, some covert, inside Gaza.
