The deputy chairman of the Palestinian Authority (PA) power authority has accused Fatah of falsely stating that Hamas took control of generating stations and added that others are guilty of embezzlement. The official, Kan'an Ube'id, called on the European Union (EU) to investigate Fatah charges that Hamas took utility revenues.
He said that individuals have been arrested and demanded that Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas bring them to justice, according to the Bethlehem-based Ma'an news agency. "There had been a contract with a local company to supply 430 thousand liters of fuel to run the company's generators, and the grant was stolen by the former general manager of the company," Ube'id explained.
