Brig. Gen. (res.) Avigdor Kahalani estimated Sunday that Syrian President Bashar Assad may try to deploy Hizbullah-like terror cells in the Golan Heights as part of the lessons he learned from the Second Lebanon War.

Kahalani, famed hero of the Golan tank battles of 1973 and former Minister of Public Security, said that if Assad attacks in this way he will encounter a tough counterstrike by the IDF, which has learned its lessons from the war as well.

Kahalani spoke at a ceremony in Netanya's Academic College.
