Fatah May Bar some Hamas Candidates from Elections Reported: 12:26 PM - Aug/16/07
(IsraelNN.com) Advisors to Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas are considering introducing measures to limit participation of the rival Hamas terrorist faction in the next general elections, according to Reuters News Agency. One idea being floated is to ban candidates who do not accept previous agreements signed by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Hamas has refused to accept accords that have been signed with Israel, although most of them have not been carried out by the Fatah faction. Hamas won a majority of legislative seats in last year's general elections, but Abbas has said he will call for new elections to solve the current impasse resulting from the Hamas military takeover in Gaza. ![]() Check out the Chill Zone - Funny, Entertaining Videos © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
