IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi elicited enthusiastic applause from a largely Druze audience Sunday when he told the crowd that in the next life, he wants to be a Druze.
Ashkenazi was speaking at a ceremony honoring Druze soldiers, in Karmiel.
Members of the Druze minority serve in the IDF and are considered to be loyal to Israel.
