Friedmann Favors Toughening Traffic Laws

(IsraelNN.com) Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann said Sunday in an interview that he favors toughening the laws against traffic offenders.

"We supported and will support any bill concerning toughening or changing the situation," Friedmann told Ynet. "For instance, whereas at present a person who runs a red light receives an option for a fine, we are advancing a law that will make it possible to confiscate the car for 30 days."

14 people were killed in traffic accidents over the past week – about four more than in an average week.
