Court Hearing Petition against Amnesty for Blumenthal

(IsraelNN.com) The High Court is hearing a petition Thursday filed by the Movement for Quality Government against amnesty for former Knesset Member Naomi Blumenthal. The Likud party member was convicted of paying for hotel rooms for colleagues prior to party primaries.
President Shimon Peres recently granted her amnesty in order to spare her having to serve a jail sentence. The petitioners argued that the amnesty gave Blumenthal preferential treatment.
