(IsraelNN.com) The police will commence a criminal investigation in the matter of the failed construction company Heftziba, whose owner has apparently left the country. The decision to launch an investigation was made by Maj. Gen. Yochanan Danino, Head of Investigations Department, after a number of complaints were lodged against the company by home-buyers.

The investigation will be handled by the National Unit for Fraud Investigations.

Danino will chair a meeting Thursday with representatives of the Prosecution, the Securities Authority, the Tax Authority and the Chief Receiver, to discuss cooperation between the bodies in the investigation.
