(IsraelNN.com) Soldiers serving in the Duchifat brigade received orders this morning to carry out operations in Judea and Samaria. Prior to boarding the bus, it became clear to the soldiers that they were to be involved in carrying out the expulsion of two Jewish families from the marketplace in Hebron, at which point, a number of soldiers refused to board the bus.

The father of one of the soldiers refusing to take part in the expulsion stated that, “the soldiers are standing with determination in their refusal to take part in any part of the expulsion of Jewish families from Hebron.” Another father, Moshe Rosenfeld, stated on Army Radio that, “my son didn’t join the army to expel Jews, but to defend them. Furthermore, this is not an operation for the army, but for the police.”

A number of the soldiers refusing to take part in the expulsion are students of Rabbi Chaim Druckman, and they have been seeking guidance from him as the situation developed.

On Tuesday, 3,000 soldiers are scheduled to expel two Jewish families from the abandoned marketplace in Hebron.
