In yet another round of “gestures” to “strengthen” the rule of Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas on PA-controlled areas of Judea and Samaria, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is likely to authorize the entry into Israel of tens of thousands of Arabs to work inside green line Israel when the two meet in Jericho on Monday.
The “gestures” could include granting work permits to 30,000 PA workers, and another 20,000 to merchants seeking to sell their products to Israelis. Other “gestures” could include developing a second list of Fatah-affiliated terrorists that Olmert would release from Israeli prisons, in return for the terrorists' promise to behave, as well as the IDF's redeploying outside PA cities, which would allow terrorists to plan attacks against Israel unhindered.
