The Arad, Har Hanegev and Gush Etzion Rescue Unit has begun searching for a 56 year old Arad resident who went missing Thursday.

The search parties are combing the Arad area, between Beersheva and the Jordan River, with the assistance of a horse-mounted team.

Neighbors of the man, who often hikes alone through the desert, reported him missing Thursday.
