The Ynet news site – which belongs to Israel’s Yediot Acharonot daily newspaper – compared IDF soldiers to Nazis Tuesday.
Bearing the headline “We were only following orders,” the site reported on an incident last Thursday in which soldiers followed an order to carry out what they assumed was a counter-terror operation.
Four of the soldiers were deemed innocent and were returned to their units, while a fifth soldier and the commander are still being investigated.
Ynet, which has printed several editorials condemning all Holocaust comparisons, has not explained why it deemed the incident worthy of the most famous cliché to come out of Nuremberg.
