Senetta Yoseftal, a former Knesset Member for MAPAI – the precursor of the Labor Party – passed away Thursday at the age of 95 and will be laid to rest today at 3 PM at her kibbutz, Gilad.

Yoseftal was born in a small south German town and as a young girl joined the Habonim Movement, where she met her future husband, Giora Yoseftal. Together, the two organized Aliyah (immigration to Israel) activity. In March of 1945 they made Aliyah themselves, to the mountains of Menashe, where they co-founded Gilad.

Giora became a Minister for Labor and for Housing and Development in the fourth and fifth MAPAI governments. Yoseftal Hospital in Eilat is named after him. He died in 1962.
