(IsraelNN.com) Yifat Doron, an activist from the radical pacifist-feminist organization Machsom Watch was arrested Thursday after interfering with the work of soldiers manning the Hawara checkpoint near Shechem. According to Machsom Watch activists, Doron stepped over a line drawn by soldiers to serve as a boundary past which the activists may not venture.

Doron was arrested for interfering with soldiers in the line of duty and taken to the Ariel police station, where she was told she could go free if she agreed not to return to the checkpoint for 15 days. When she refused, she was sent to Neveh Tirtza women's jail, where she spent the night. Her co-activists said they would come to her arraignment Friday morning and protest the way they were treated by the IDF.

Machsom Watch's activists include among their ranks members of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's family.
