Two Israelis died on Thursday due to the intense heat. A six-month-old baby girl died in northern Israel after her father accidentally left her in the family car. Paramedics confirmed that the baby died from over-exposure to the sun.
A 20-year-old yeshiva student died of dehydration during a hike in Nahal Tzalim, in the Judean desert. Temperatures in the area reached 48 degrees Celsius (118 degrees Fahrenheit) in the area on Thursday. The young man, who had wandered away from his friends, was located by emergency workers after his friends called for help. Paramedics who reached the scene were unable to save his life.
