Jewish Leadership faction leader Moshe Feiglin began his campaign for leadership of the Likud in Jerusalem’s Renaissance Hotel on Wednesday night. Feiglin expressed confidence in his chances to win, saying he had received a “strong message” from Israelis that they wanted “leadership that can look the people in the eyes, and that it’s possible to trust and believe in.” Feiglin is competing with current Likud head Binyamin Netanyahu and Danny Danon, head of the World Likud party.
Feiglin, who is religious, said, “The people deserve a leadership that has a God. The people of Israel want this.” He told supporters that he was running not only for leadership of the Likud party, but also for leadership of the entire country.
