(IsraelNN.com) A retired husband and wife who are Holocaust survivors are among several hundred American Jews who will be making aliya (moving to Israel) this summer. Miriam and Itamar Pollak of New Haven, Connecticut, are to arrive on the August Nefesh B'Nefesh (NBN) flight.

"It's such a miracle that there is an Israel and that we can go there and celebrate our Jewishness, our connection to history," Miriam Pollak told the New Haven Register. Referring to dangers in Israel, she told the newspaper, "My husband was held up twice" in New Haven.
