Batya Katar, the head of the Sderot Parents’ Association, called government officials “murderers” in a recent interview with the Jerusalem Post. Katar’s harsh criticism came after Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who she called “crazy,” rejected a Supreme Court ruling calling for classrooms in Sderot to be fortified against rocket strikes.
“What do you call a government that doesn’t give us protection and doesn’t go into Gaza to eliminate the threat?” Katar asked. “Murderers.” She warned that schools would not open if the classrooms were not fortified, adding, “I guess Sderot doesn’t belong to the state of Israel.”
