Labor Court Pushes Off Anti-Strike Petitions

The National Labor Court has pushed off the hearing on an emergency petition filed against the Histadrut labor federation’s general strike.  Eight organizations filed the petition on Tuesday night.   The court argued that it lacks the proper information to hold a hearing at this time.  A hearing has been set for Thursday at 9 am.

The court’s decision allowed the Histadrut to begin its strike at 6 am on Wednesday morning.  All government offices will be closed during the strike, as will the train.  Workers at Ben Gurion airport will join the strike at 6 am on Thursday.
