IDF: Hizbullah Can’t Hit Tel Aviv

A senior IDF official spoke to Haaretz on Monday and denied claims made by Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who said that all of Israel was within range of Hizbullah rockets.  Hizbullah has rockets capable of traveling more than 70 kilometers, the source said, but is still unable to reach Tel Aviv or any cities further south.  However, the official said, Hizbullah’s military capabilities are greater than they were during the Second Lebanon War.

The official said that Nasrallah had visited Damascus multiple times since the end of the war, and had met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.  He discussed the flow of Iranian weapons to Hizbullah, saying “It’s not weapons smuggling, the weapons pass freely as part of a whole industry.”
