The High Court Monday morning rejected a petition against the appointment of Niso Shacham as deputy police commissioner in the Jerusalem district. The petition was filed by the Israel Law Forum.

The court accepted Shacham's regret for ordering his forces during the Kfar Maimon protest against the expulsion, two summers ago, to use clubs and hit "where it hurts, in the lower part of the body." He added, "They should all burn."
